Training Philosophy

The approach to training on this site is intentionally simple.

Progress in running is driven by repeated exposure to manageable stress, followed by sufficient recovery. Most setbacks come from doing too much, too fast, or without enough context.

This site emphasises consistency over intensity, durability over short-term performance, and long-term development over quick results. Easy runs should feel easy, harder sessions should be purposeful, and rest should be treated as part of training rather than a failure to train.

Advice is always framed with the understanding that terrain, age, background, and life demands differ. There is no single method that works for everyone, but there are common principles that work for most runners when applied thoughtfully.
